This compression testing gzipcheck tool was originally written for an intranet project. It has been made available to others for free via the web because it is a helpful tool for developers to confirm that web sites run with node.js, apache, nginx and other servers are properly delivering compressed results in response to requests.
Gzipcheck.com was originally launched on February 11, 2012. Server and code hardening over the next two days was intensive, and we elected to tighten cURL transports for security. Coincidentally, as it were, as others were realizing that cURL can be abused by bogus POP3 redirects.

gzipcheck.com does not determine how any personally-identifiable data is used beyond gzipcheck.com and therefore is not acting as a Data Processor as that term is defined by EU Directive 95/46/EC or the May 2018 GDPR and therefore does not have any of the related responsibilities of Data Processors.
For example we use the Google AdSense service and we choose not to use personalization options such as "Remarketing" and other advanced features that would use personally-identifiable data.
